Submission Criteria

  1. RELEVANCE: Articles must be about history. Articles may be research essays, interpretive essays, expository essays, comparative essays, etc. – so long as they cover at least one topic in global history. 

  2. WORD COUNT: We recommend that articles are between 250-2000 words, but word count is flexible.

  3. ACCURACY: All articles must be factually accurate and fact-based, rather than opinion-based. Articles must include a bibliography of sources in Chicago style used on the last page. Please omit footnotes from all submissions. 

  4. STYLE: Articles must include a title, author name, and a feature image.

  5. PERSPECTIVES: Articles should ideally incorporate a diverse array of perspectives of different groups throughout the event and should not be one-sided. 

  6. AI: Articles must be the original work of the author. Articles must not be written by AI. All articles will be put through an AI/plagiarism checker prior to publication. 

  7. SUBMISSION FORM: Articles must be submitted as a Google Doc or Microsoft Word document. Please grant editing access to perspectivesofhistory@gmail.com if the article is submitted as a Google Doc. 

  8. CREATION: Articles do not need to be originally created for the purposes of publication of “Perspectives of History”. Submissions may be reused from other purposes.
