Submission Criteria

RELEVANCE: Articles must be about history. Articles may be research essays, interpretive essays, expository essays, comparative essays, etc. – so long as they cover at least one topic in global history.

WORD COUNT: We recommend that articles are between 250-2000 words, but word count is flexible.

ACCURACY: All articles must be factually accurate and fact-based, rather than opinion-based. Articles must include a bibliography of sources in Chicago style used on the last page. Please omit footnotes from all submissions.

STYLE: Articles must include a title, author name, and a feature image.

PERSPECTIVES: Articles should ideally incorporate a diverse array of perspectives of different groups throughout the event and should not be one-sided.

AI: Articles must be the original work of the author. Articles must not be written by AI. All articles will be put through an AI/plagiarism checker prior to publication.

SUBMISSION FORM: Articles must be submitted as a Google Doc or Microsoft Word document. Please grant editing access to perspectivesofhistory@gmail.com if the article is submitted as a Google Doc.

CREATION: Articles do not need to be originally created for the purposes of publication of “Perspectives of History”. Submissions may be reused from other purposes.
