Promoting underrepresented history education by more objectively retelling histories that have been embellished by majority influenced revisionists.
Perspectives of History promotes underrepresented history education by more objectively retelling histories that have been embellished by majority influenced revisionists. Traditionally, history curricula tends to mythologize what actually happened, biased by majority perspectives or by those wielding power – example: “the savages were civilized”. However, almost every significant event of the past has a complicated, nuanced, and obscured historical record with the indignities or victories alike of underrepresented groups being overshadowed by dominant perspectives.
We aim to correct these overlooked stories to provide a less biased and more inclusive understanding of global history.
